Planning Pressures

Growing pressure on the Local Planning system has forced many parties to investigate potential planning loopholes to satisfy occupational requirements. Redmayne Arnold & Harris has advised McDonald's Restaurants Ltd. over the last 3 years in their search for premises in Cambridge. Having been unsuccessful in their planning negotiations on Coldhams Lane McDonald's were forced to consider properties within the A3 planning use class which includes public houses and restaurants.

Acting on behalf of McDonald's we have successfully purchased 'The Churchill', Madingley Rd and 'The RaceHorse', Newmarket Rd. The Churchill has already been refurbished and is now open and trading beyond expectations. The Racehorse is to be refurbished and will possibly provide a drive thru facility. Other similar properties are being sought in all towns and cities throughout the Eastern region.
